be prepared! {book review}

What would you do if your house flooded? Or if you got snowed in for an abnormally long period of time? Would you be able to survive and thrive in an emergency situation?

It is important to think about the "what ifs" in life, however unlikely they appear to be. In Howard Godfrey's Emergency Preparedness the Right Way, Godfrey discusses several ways to make sure that you are able to provide clean water, food, shelter and protection for your family should the occasion arise. It is an uncomfortable situation to think about, but if you get ready ahead of time it will become less of a burden on your mind and bring you great peace.

I really enjoyed reading Emergency Preparedness the Right Way. I appreciate the simple language and straight-talk. Godfrey lays out the facts in a manner that is organized and easy to understand. The book is chock-full of handy little tips and tricks not only to help you prepare, but also things you can use once you are already in the midst of a survival situation. I found it so useful that I picked up a copy for my relatives since I didn't want to lend out my own book.

I strongly recommend adding this book to your library and taking some time to read and discuss it with your spouse and family members. Make sure that you are as prepared as you can be! Ultimately, our lives our in God's hands, and nothing is as important as prayer. But I believe it is also important to do what we can to arm ourselves with the necessary tools we need to keep our family safe and healthy no matter what. If you would like to get your own copy of Emergency Preparedness the Right Way, it can be purchased here on Amazon in bok paperback and Kindle version (though I personally recommend spending the extra two dollars on a hard copy to keep as reference!)
