I can tell you that it is not because I am a hippy-dippy, never-put-your-child-in-a-stroller kinda mommy. I do not consider myself crunchy, and I think if you knew me in real life you would agree. Brax naps in a baby swing. He joins us at the dinner table in his bouncy chair (since he is too big for his bumbo). And yes, we do use a stroller at times.
But I babywear a lot. I do it at home, I do it at the grocery store, I do it at the park, at the beach, at the doctor's office.
I do it because I love it, because it is easy, because I can hold my son for hours when I wouldn't normally be able to.
I love it because I realize he will not be little forever.
Someday both my babies will be big boys. They will say "Ew, Mooooom" when I try to kiss them. They will probably push away hugs and affection. Someday they won't let me hold them anymore.
And someday, they will grow into men.
So ask me why I babywear, and I will tell you.

Sweet post ...So True!
"And someday, they will grow into men." This made me cry.
Braxis adorable, but he's too big for his Bumbo already????
His chunko thighs won't fit!
I loved this post...so true! That's one of the main reasons why I love babywearing too...
And adorable pictures...what is the last wrap you have pictured (the light blue one)?
That is a Didymos Robert, one of the 50/50 linen jacquards.
This made me get watery eyes. Its both wonderful and sad to think that our kids will one day be grown-ups and wont need us as much. =(
Aww this is a precious post. They do grow so fast!
So sweet! I loved this! Made me get chills cause it is sooooo true!
That is exactly how I feel. It allows us to be close and for my arms not want to fall off. I also find that I have better posture too. But little baby boys be become men and then they are too big for their mommy's arms.
So sweet and so true. My daughter loves her sleepy wrap!
I find "crunchy and hippy dippy" such offensive terms when I find them on websites. I tend to lose respect for the person using the terms than the person they are describing. No mother has the right to put down another mother for doing what she thinks is right dor her baby.
Anon, I am sorry if you were offended by my terms. I was not directing them at anyone else, but rather using them in a toungue-in-cheek manner. I respect all parenting decisions as long as they are made in love.
I love the pics! I think Brax is looking more and more like his momma!
(What is that comment from anonymous?? Makes no sense!)
Loved this post. So beautiful and so true! I loved wearing Lucas and it makes being a mom so much easier and better... I think!
