a diaper bag built for two.

As I stated previously in my review of Brooke Van Gory longies, I fell in love with Brooke's diaper bags the moment I stepped my cyber-foot inside her etsy shop.

Want to see why? Not only are her bags highly drool-inducing, but I love the concept of being able to fully customize a bag to fit my tastes. I have been wanting something super girly and shabby chic, which apparently is not in style right now (guess I missed the memo). While I love the bags she has listed, my dream bag's color and fabric scheme was a little (err....lot) different than anything she had done before. Want to see my dream bag? I know you do...

Brooke was so easy to work with. She helped me find the perfect fabric for the front pocket, then she pulled colors to complement the fabric for the outer body. I was concerned about the outer color. I wanted something that matched the fabric I had chosen, but that would not get dirty right away (hello, can you say TWO boys!?). So I had her keep that in mind when she went to pick out my fabric. I told her what I wanted, didn't want, what my main concerns were. She tailored a bag to fit all those needs!

First off, I need a diaper bag big enough for two in diapers, but not so big that I feel as if I might as well be lugging my entire changing table with me. I want something organized, but too many pockets get confusing for me, as I have a hard time remembering what pocket I used for which item. This bag meets all of those needs. I can fit so much junk in there (in an orderly fashion, mind you) that its a bit ridiculous. But I don't feel like I am lugging around a ginormous bag at all. The design is very efficient and has just enough pockets to remain organized, but not so many so that you can't find what you need at a quick glance. My bag also flares slightly at the bottom for extra space in the main compartment. This makes it really easy to fit a change of clothing, a warm jacket, blankets, and/or extra diapers if we are going to be away from home all day.

Being a cloth diapering mama, a wetbag is a must for your diaper bag. For those of you non-cloth-diapering mamas, a wetbag is simply a bag used to hold your soiled dipes while you are out and about. One of those fun inventions that makes cloth diapering on-the-go a snap. A coordinating wetbag to match your diaper bag is a huuuuuge plus. But perhaps my favorite feature of this whole bag is the clip-on feature of the wetbag. It is literally the coolest and most useful wetbag I have ever come across. Instead of getting shoved inside your bag with everything else, it simply clips on to the outside of your diaper bag, so your dirties don't take up all the room in the bag. Easy to attach, and easy to detach when it is time to wash. Plus it has a really cute heart design with matching fabric, so it looks great hanging on your bag. And, of course, it is machine washable for easy cleaning.

Cool features aside, the bottom line is that a bag is only as good as it's craftmanship. I mean, you can have all the neat extras you can think of, but if your bag is flimsy then none of those features really matter. This bag is so sturdy and well-made. The body fabric feels very durable, but still soft and yummy. I adore the stitching and am jealous of Brooke's skills (shhh don't tell her I told you that). They are so well done and serve as a great accent to the bag. The wetbag is made from the exact same material as the diaper bag outer body, but has an inner layer of PUL to make it waterproof.

This bag is so cloth diaper-friendly, double diaper-friendly, and adorable to boot. I had so much fun designing it, and I have even more fun now that I get to use it. I would definetely recommend considering Brooke Van Gory for your next diaper bag purchase. If you'd like to contact her for a price quote, please convo her through her etsy site or e-mail her at brooke(at)brookevangory(dot)com...don't forget to tell her I sent you for free shipping!

I.LOVE.YOUR.BAG! I want one just like it (minus the wetbag). How much does she charge for something like that? I need space for one baby and a six year old that collects everything he sees!

that is so cute and girly but super practical. I have to carry around enough diapers and clothes for 3 boys but I hate having to carry a bag bigger than myself too!

I hear ya on the 'scoot this mess over' deal. Small, old farmhouse; four boys; one husband; umpteen shoes?? Constant clutter fight. Seriously!
