curtains are my nemesis.

For those of you who have been following my blog for awhile now (thank you!), this post will not surprise you. I am, once again, having curtain issues.

(sigh)

I thought I was done with the curtains for the boy's room. Turns out that while two panels serve to cover the window, I think that it really needs 4 panels to adequately bunch, at least to my standards. I have been hunting for some cute panels that match the navy panels and yellow and navy plaid valance I already have up. They don't necessarily have to be navy, or even blue for that matter. Other accent colors I'd be happy to include are red, brown, tan or black (yes, black).

Hit three stores today. At the third one I picked up some super cute panels with red, navy, light blue, tan and other various stripes. I knew fully well that they would not match the valance, but I figured if I liked them enough I'd just switch out the valance to something solid or chuck it all together and do a cute decorative rod.

I get home, hightail it up the stairs and hang those suckers.

(groan)

They are not at all what I had expected. Even though the colors seem like they should match my accents, they just don't. At all. Wrong shades of color, too chaotic. I preferred the two navy panels by themselves.

(sigh)

So they are going back to the store. And the hunt is still on. Have I ever told you how much I hate curtain shopping?

I hate curtain shopping too! That's why I am making the curtains for Nat's room. Hopefully they turn out the way I want. Good Luck!

I don't know if I'm just getting lucky or what but curtain shopping has never been that bad for me. In fact, I have never once had to take any back or buy more than one (or one pair) for the same window.

I hope you guys find something that you love soon! I know how it is decorating a nursery/kid room and if you have something that doesn't work it just doesn't feel right.

Oh no! Curtain shopping is difficult for me too. I hope you have better luck and find them soon. I know what it feels like to want something finished now, especially being pregnant :)

I haven't had problems with curtain but I guess I'm not that picky lol. I made the girls curtains My Little Ponies :)

I don't know how big the valance is but could you fold it up and take one with you next time you go shopping?

I hate curtains too... i can NEVER find what I want....

We have lived in our house for 5 years.. and only have 3 rooms with curtains. SO far I have had to make curtains for alys room, buy curtains and alter them for our room, buy twice as many as I should need to fit adequitly.. and still have OLD curtains that i hate in the livingroom because i havent found waht I want and a price thats resonable, when at this rate.. i would pay almost ANYTHING for what I want..

Its just not right! lol
