Quality is Greater than Quantity

Ahhhh giveaways. They are great for attracting new people to your blog. I love being able to offer fun stuff for my readers to win, which is why I hold occasionally hostess a giveaway.

The inherent problem? Sometimes they attract a large quantity of people to your blog, but not necessarily followers who actually want to, you know, read your blog. And leave feedback.

As for me, I will take quality over quantity any day. I love my readers that stop by often to drop me a note, leave me a comment, tweet me. I have no intention of making this blog into a "giveaway blog." I love having a space to rant and rave about the joys and trials of motherhood and womanhood. And while I love offering neat products for my readers, and a successful giveaway is always fun, what I really love are the readers that enjoy my posts. Even when they don't comment or ever tell me that they love my post, it still makes my heart all fuzzy that they enjoy my blog.

Not only that, but I would like to say that I have been asked before to review and giveaway certain products (none of which I ended up featuring) without expressing any negativity about the product. To those companies, thank you for the offer, but I must politely decline. Here, we review honestly. I'd feel just awful if I had to post an infomercial encouraging my readers to purchase a product I couldn't stand. I just don't think its right. Here we blog honestly. If there is something we don't like about a product, we include that in our reviews. Again, its about quality over quantity. I'd rather give an honest, quality review of a product than just line up positive review after positive review just because I was asked to do so. In the end, my readers are important to me and take priority over product reviews.

So thank you to those people who love my blog not just for the free stuff they could possibly win, but for the pure enjoyment of my writing.

And, as a bit of irony, please enjoy an ENTIRE WEEK of giveaways next week.

I often wondered if people post honest opinions of the products they review! Thanks for shedding light on this!

I completely agree with you! That's why I stopped doing giveaways on my family blog. I want followers that want to read my blog, not just win free stuff!

LOL! I hear you! I only have about 20 followers on my blog, and I was getting upset that no one wanted to read it, and follow, but then I realized I would rather have followers that LIKE what I write about, then people that just want free stuff! Especially if I am the ONE MAKING the giveaway items!

I do have to say, though, I subscribe to your blog, and follow you on Twitter because I find your writing fresh, and informative. I find myself smiling at things Moose does, because my Gory is starting to do those things too! Yay for mommies with little boys!

I too love this blog! And I should add that you inspired me to start my own blog. And surprisingly, I actually post to it a lot and love doing it. I have read so many of your posts that make me think "I have felt the SAME way!!" It is obvious that you enjoy this space and you are a talented writer to boot!

I love your blog i told you that already this week. I have never entered into your giveaways because I do not have a baby so all the thing you give away would unfortunately sit around my house collecting dust until we have our own baby. I will make sure to leave more feedback because I do read it every time you post. ;) Have a great day and I hope Easton's B-day plans are going well. I still cannot believe it has been a year.

Everyone wants to be loved for themselves. I'm new to your blog. I must admit I came here for a giveaway, but I'm staying to get to know you. I have to say I love the name of your blog (so true - which is why life is so fragmented right now) and the picture on the top of your page with your baby's feet and fingers making a heart!
